AppearsIn

Project

The URL form, what it fills in, the question cap, and up to ten competitors.

The setup wizard

When your workspace has no project, you are taken through five steps:

  1. Your site. Paste your URL. AppearsIn fetches the page (15 second timeout, up to 1 MB, redirects followed), strips it to text, and sends the first 12,000 characters to one model call. This takes about half a minute. If the page cannot be fetched, or points at a private address, you see the error and nothing is created.
  2. Review. Everything we found is shown in editable fields: name, the name to mention, description, use cases, talking points, the questions to track, and the subreddits to watch. Nothing is saved yet.
  3. Competitors and voice. Confirm or change the suggested competitors and choose how replies should sound. The project is saved when you continue.
  4. Connect Reddit. Install the extension, connect it, and sync your Reddit account. You can skip this and do it later from Today.
  5. Start. The first Reddit scan and AI answer check start automatically, and the page shows their progress. We email you when the first drafts are ready.

Until the project is saved, you can go back and change anything or start over. After setup, Today shows a short Get set up checklist until everything is done.

You can add more projects later on Projects, from a URL or by filling in the fields yourself. Starter includes one project, Growth and Pro include three, and another is a $25 a month add-on.

What it fills in

Caps

Questions and communities are trimmed to the room your plan has left. Starter allows 50 questions and 10 communities, Growth 100 and 30, and Pro 200 and 100. Adding a question over the cap returns a pricing error, and 100 more questions is a $100 a month add-on. A community past the cap needs a higher plan. See Plans.
