SEObot alternative
AppearsIn is software that helps a brand get named in AI answers. It checks whether ChatGPT, Google AI Overview, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok and Meta Muse Spark name your brand for the questions your buyers ask, shows the sources those answers rely on, and watches where the web mentions you and your competitors. Then it helps you show up in those sources, starting with Reddit: it finds the threads that already rank, drafts one reply per thread in your voice, and posts it from your own Reddit account after you approve it.
The short answer
SEObot is an AI SEO agent that writes long articles, builds backlinks, handles internal links and publishes to your CMS, from $49 a month. AppearsIn does less publishing and more measuring: it checks whether seven AI engines name your brand and works in the Reddit threads they rely on. Choose SEObot for hands-off blog SEO. Choose AppearsIn to get named in AI answers.

It publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Ghost, Framer, Wix, Shopify, Notion, HubSpot, Next.js, webhooks and a REST API.

Why AppearsIn
AppearsIn tells you whether AI engines name your brand and acts on Reddit, not only your own blog. SEObot lists programmatic SEO, backlinks and more publishing integrations, which AppearsIn does not. Its starting price is $49 a month, the same as AppearsIn Lite.
How AppearsIn works
- You enter the questions your buyers ask. AppearsIn reads your site to propose them, and you edit the list.
- It checks seven AI engines (four weekly, three monthly) for whether they name you, who they name instead and which pages they cite.
- It finds the Reddit threads that rank on Google for those questions and writes one draft reply per thread, in your voice.
- You approve each draft. The extension posts it from your own Reddit account, on a button press or automatically within daily limits, and stops itself if the account is suspended or comments are removed.
See the extension docs for every posting limit, and the pricing page for plans.
Using both, or switching
They overlap on articles only, so they can run side by side. Use SEObot for volume and AppearsIn for the AI answer score and the Reddit replies.
Get startedQuestions
Does SEObot reply on Reddit?
Its site does not mention Reddit. AppearsIn finds ranking Reddit threads, drafts a reply for each, and posts it from your account after you approve it.
Which is cheaper?
SEObot's site lists subscriptions from $49 a month and does not show article limits per plan. AppearsIn Lite is $49 a month with 3 articles a month.
Does SEObot show article limits?
Its home page lists a $49 a month starting price and does not show limits per plan. Check before you buy.
Are articles the same as being named in AI answers?
Not by themselves. Articles can help, but AI engines also lean on forums such as Reddit. AppearsIn scores whether seven engines name you and works on both the articles and the Reddit threads.
Can I use an SEO article tool and AppearsIn together?
Yes. They do different jobs: one publishes content at volume, the other measures whether AI engines name you and replies on Reddit.
Does AppearsIn guarantee that AI engines will name my brand?
No. Nobody controls what an assistant says. AppearsIn shows what each engine says today, so you can see whether your work changes it.
