AppearsIn

ReplyAgent alternative

AppearsIn is software that helps a brand get named in AI answers. It finds the Reddit threads that already rank for a buyer's questions, drafts one reply per thread in your voice, and posts it from your own Reddit account after you approve it. It also tracks whether ChatGPT, Google AI Overview, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok and Meta Muse Spark name your brand, and where Reddit and the wider web mention you and your competitors.

The short answer

ReplyAgent finds Google-ranking Reddit threads and writes comments, and charges $79 a month for discovery plus $4 a comment and $8 a post if you use its posting service, which uses accounts it supplies. AppearsIn is $99 a month with posting from your own account included and no per-comment fee. ReplyAgent is cheaper if you post by hand; AppearsIn costs less per comment if you want posting done for you.

What ReplyAgent does

ReplyAgent describes itself as an AI-powered Reddit marketing tool that discovers high-traffic, Google-ranking posts where your customers are searching. Its Basic plan includes round-the-clock post discovery and monitoring, optional AI content generation, up to three products and advanced analytics. You can post the comments yourself, or add its professional posting service, which uses what it calls authentic Reddit accounts with 100 to 10,000 karma, billed per comment and per post. It also describes an approval step before posting and tracking of conversions with UTM links.

AppearsIn also starts from Google rankings, but its posting step uses your own account. The Chrome extension fills and submits the approved reply, either on a button press or automatically within limits you set, and records the comment link. There is no per-comment charge.

ReplyAgent discovers Google-ranking Reddit posts and generates comments. You post them yourself, or pay per comment for its posting service, which uses accounts it supplies. AppearsIn posts from your own account and adds AI answer tracking.

What ReplyAgent does well

  • Lower entry price, at $79 a month
  • Up to three products on the base plan
  • Performance analytics with UTM and conversion tracking
  • A pay-per-comment option for teams that want posting done without a subscription to a posting tool
  • An approval step before posting

Where it may not fit

  • Managed posting costs extra and adds up with volume
  • Comments from its accounts are not from you
  • Its site does not say whether it tracks whether AI engines name your brand, or whether it has a Chrome extension
  • The 3-day trial is short

Why AppearsIn

AppearsIn has no per-comment fee: Starter is $99 a month and posting from your own account is included. ReplyAgent's Basic plan is $79 a month, and its managed posting costs $4 a comment and $8 a post on top.

How AppearsIn works

  1. You enter the questions your buyers ask. AppearsIn reads your site to propose them, and you edit the list.
  2. It checks seven AI engines (four weekly, three monthly) for whether they name you, who they name instead and which pages they cite.
  3. It finds the Reddit threads that rank on Google for those questions and writes one draft reply per thread, in your voice.
  4. You approve each draft. The extension posts it from your own Reddit account, on a button press or automatically within daily limits, and stops itself if the account is suspended or comments are removed.

See the extension docs for every posting limit, and the pricing page for plans.

Using both, or switching

Because ReplyAgent can be used without its posting service, some teams use it for discovery and drafts and post by hand. If you want to compare, run the same ten questions through both and look at which threads each finds and how good the drafts are, before deciding where posting should live.
